Individuals interested in attending the Ontario Turfgrass Symposium, February 22 and 23, 2012 can register online now by going to www.turfsymposium.ca. The new website is easy to use and provides both online and printable registration opportunities. Save money by taking advantage of the Early Bird fee when you register before January 6, 2012. Look to the website to provide other current and important information. The print brochure for Grow Your Knowledge, OTS 2012, will be distributed early December 2011. 

The Ontario Turfgrass Symposium. Join turf industry experts; speakers, delegates and sponsors, for two exciting days at the University of Guelph, February 22 and 23, 2012.  

True to from (or, at least as one would hope), the last day of summer was bright and sunny; a clearing of skies from the rain which preceded and then followed.

More than 200 participants representing the turfgrass industry joined us 'Onsite in Oakville' for the 24th Annual Field Day at the Glen Abbey Community Centre on September 22, 2011.

The respected speakers, topics that were varied and on trend, tremendous supplier support and presence, delicious lunch, and of course, the delegates who were keen to learn, all contributed to the day's success.

An Energizing Inaugural Event.

The catchphrase for the event was 'Meet Us in Moncton' and the invitation was well received! More than 100 turfgrass industry professionals gathered at the geographic centre of the Maritimes for the Atlantic Sports Turf Field Day on July 21, 2011. The response was remarkable and the enthusiasm engergizing for our inaugural eastern event.

Bringing uniformity to the construction of grass athletic fields, this manual is long overdue as a staple reference for those in the sports turf industry. It establishes standards for the design and construction of the root zone. The standards are based on a classification system (1-5) for the athletic field which is primarily based on the root zone material and the provision of drainage, irrigation and lights. Also included are permitting hours and maintenance costs for field categories; a checklist to evaluate the condition of existing fields; and more than 20 diagrams outlining the approved field dimensions for most field sports using a turf surface (more...)
